A million calories were consumed in the research to find Chiang Mai’s best afternoon teas. Or at least that’s how it felt. Read about the best afternoon tea in Chiang Mai – courtesy of some of the city’s most beautiful hotels. You can read the full post here Chiang Mai’s best luxury afternoon teas.
The best afternoon tea in Chiang Mai, in my humble opinion, is without doubt the one at the Four Seasons. It’s a jaunt out of town but worth every kilometre and baht to get out into the beautiful countryside and discover this gorgeous resort.
Not only is the setting for afternoon tea the best in town, the food lives up to the same standard and the service is also 5 star – something that cannot be said for every hotel we tried. In fact, afternoon tea here definitely convinced me that if I had to choose one hotel or resort in Chiang Mai to stay in, it would be this one. And here’s why…..
We only visited for afternoon tea but the hotel treated us like royalty (the resort is actually a favourite getaway for Thai royalty). I informed the Four Seasons in advance that I was vegetarian and they provided an imaginative and delicious selection of savoury snacks for me. Contrast this with the other hotels on the list, some of which said ‘egg sandwiches or nothing’. Not really what I would expect from 5 star hotels.
This is important not because I’m vegetarian. It’s important because for a hotel to be worthy of it’s 5 stars it should endeavour to provide a top quality experience to all it’s guests. Be they Hollywood superstars (Will Smith and family were at the Four Seasons just days before us) or two locals like us popping in for afternoon tea.
Thank you to the Four Seasons for providing such an excellent experience during our short visit. And thank you for the best macarons in town!
